Current Projects

Annual inspection, flushing, and mowing around of all fire hydrant will resume March 1, 2023. Do not paint, decorate, landscape or place any obstructions within 3 feet of a fire hydrant.

We are currently working with engineers and the Arkansas Department of Health to replace the Zia water tank. We received notification from the tank builder that fabrication has started and should be completed by the end of December 2022. If the tank build goes as planned, on site construction will begin in January 2023. Updates will be posted as they occur. Tank delivery is postponed until April 24, 2023 due to supply chain issues.

Cheyenne/Zia Tank Update: The tank materials were delivered on April 18, 2023. The excavation work is currently in process. The foundation is scheduled to be poured the first week of May. Once the foundation is tested and approved the work crew from Texas AquaStore will begin the installation of the new water storage/pressure tank. The new tank is scheduled to be online by July 8, 2023.

We are working with the EPA and the State of Arkansas regarding the revised Copper and Lead Program. We have sent out letters to all consumers asking for identification of your service lines. These agencies are now requiring all water utilities to keep an invetory of all service lines.

It has been approved for a generator is to be installed at the Zia/Cheyenne pump station. Due to supply chain issues the generator will not be delivered until late 2023. Updates will be posted.

Spring/summer of 2023 the state highway department will begin working to raise low water bridges on Iroquois Drive. We will be working with the state to move water lines, valves and pressure regulators. If you have any questions please call the office at 870-257-3508.
